 Winton Fine Hog Brushes have been specifically developed for use with our popular Winton Oil Colours but are equally suitable for use with all Oil, Griffin Alkyd Fast Drying Oil Colour and Acrylic colours. Winton brushes feature fine quality Chinese hog bristles, and offer excellent quality at an affordable price.

Hand set into seamless corrosion resistant ferrules, the natural curve of the bristle is utilised to produce a resilient brush which retains it's shape during use. The brushes have a green stained natural wood finish protected by four coats of lacquer.

Short Flat/Bright: This most popular hog brush shape produces the bold, defined marks expected from a flat brush. The shorter bristle length of this style gives greater control of thicker colour or when using large amounts of colour.

Long Flat: This brush is made to the same specifications as the Short Flat/Bright but with a longer bristle length for greater spring and freer marks. This brush style is often used with more fluid colour.

Round: The Round is the oldest brush shape, in smaller sizes they are indispensable for detail ines and highlights. Many artists prefer the linear mark of the larger rounds compared to the flat mark of Shorts Flats.

Filbert: The Filbert is a flat brush with an oval edge, which combines the control of Short Flat/Bright with the softer edges of the Round.

Fan: The Fan is a finishing brush mostly used for portraiture and landscapes. Originally used for blending oil colours on the canvas they are now popular for stippling and graining effects.
